Kiosk versus the embedded form
The embedded form is the one that sits on your website. A donor works through it themselves, and it captures their information and their payment method — so they can update that payment method over time, or set a subscription to renew and recur automatically.
Why kiosk payments are one-time only
Kiosk payments are one-time. On the kiosk, donations appear as plain amounts: no named giving tiers and no frequency options.
That is deliberate. Working in person, you want the quickest possible access to the revenue stream that applies to the individual in front of you — not a form that asks them to pick a giving level and a billing cadence.
Taking a transaction: admission, donations, and the gift shop
Tap admission and select how many people you are admitting. Add a donation. Choose items from your gift shop. It all builds into one transaction.
Stock and active items on the kiosk
Items with inventory management show the stock remaining directly on the kiosk.
Only retail items set to active on the administrative side appear here — anything set to inactive is not shown.
Member lookup and automatic benefits
Type in an existing member and select them, and their membership benefits apply automatically — free admission where their tier allows it, and member savings on gift shop items.
Sales tax and covering processing fees
Sales tax is calculated in your production environment.
Covering the processing fees is a single choice on the kiosk before you proceed to the charge.
Taking payment: card reader, manual entry, and bank transfer
With a card reader set up in PineconeAI, hit charge and the reader lights up. The individual taps their card, or their phone if they are paying by mobile wallet, to pay for the entire transaction.
Without a card reader, choose manual card entry and type in the card details. A donor can also give you their bank information for a bank transfer.
Cash, check, and comped transactions
Cash carries no processing fees — nothing is assessed. The same goes for a check, and for a comped or free transaction.
