An event series — the events box office — is a single page you embed on your website that houses every event you are running. Visitors browse one calendar, open any event, and come back to the list, all without leaving your site. This walkthrough covers setting one up and attaching events to it.

What the events box office is

Embed a running box office on your website and all your events live in one place. Donors and anyone else visiting go to a single events calendar or event series page, scroll through everything you are offering — your own events, and any you are promoting with external ticketing — view an event right from the embedded iframe, and click back out to see the rest of the list.

Finding event series, and running more than one

Where to find it. From your dashboard, open Events → Event Series.

You can run several series at once. A common split is a series for children's events against one for adults only, or a special limited-time series for a lecture series or a piece of educational programming.

Naming the series

There is very little to fill in on the series itself, because almost all of the information is fed from the events attached to it. The main administrative task is naming the series.

The embed code and QR code

Each series carries an iframe embed snippet and a QR code. Put the embed on your existing website and your box office is permanently available there, refreshing itself with any new events you add.

Events in this series

Events in this series is the administrative view showing every event currently attached to the series.

What the box office looks like to donors

Whether you embed it or use the version hosted by PineconeAI, events are listed in calendar order. Each entry shows the event title, the short card snippet written on the event itself, a quick view of the location and date — the start date only — and then the beginning of the full description.

Clicking into an event and back out

Click any event in the series to see its full event page. When you are done, use back, or the return to events hyperlink, to return to the list.

Why one box office beats a page per event

This is the power of the events box office. Rather than creating a unique page on your website for every individual event, you embed the event series once and add events to it as you go. The events calendar is always kept up to date.

Attaching an event to a series

From the event itself, edit it, open its settings, and choose the event series there.
